Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

The short version

We collect only what we need to match you with benefits. We never sell your data. We never share it with the government. You can delete everything at any time.

Who we are

UpPath is a project of AI for Canadians, a federally incorporated organization based in Canada. You can reach us at hello@uppath.org.

What we collect

  • Province, approximate age, family composition, income range, employment status — used to match you with benefits
  • Email address — only if you choose to join our waitlist or create an account
  • Anonymous usage data — which pages you visit, how long you stay, which features you use (via Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free and doesn't track individuals)

What we don't collect

  • Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Exact income
  • Bank account or credit card information
  • Government login credentials

How we protect your information

Your benefits questionnaire answers are stored locally on your device by default. If you create an account, data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA (Canada's federal privacy law) and Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to:

  • Access all personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your data at any time
  • Withdraw consent for data collection
  • File a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

Third parties

We use Plausible Analytics (cookie-free, privacy-focused web analytics) and may use Resend for email communications. We do not use advertising trackers, social media pixels, or data brokers. We do not sell or share your personal information with any third party.

Cookies

UpPath does not use tracking cookies. We may use essential cookies required for the site to function (such as keeping you logged in if you create an account).

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to how we handle your information, we'll notify you via email (if you have an account) and update this page. We will never retroactively reduce your privacy protections.
