About the CVITP Program
The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is a collaboration between the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and community organizations. Trained volunteers prepare tax returns for eligible individuals at no charge.
You may be eligible if you have a modest income and a simple tax situation. This includes students, seniors, newcomers, Indigenous peoples, and persons with disabilities.
Filing your taxes is the single most important step to receiving benefits like the Canada Child Benefit, GST/HST Credit, Canada Workers Benefit, and provincial credits.
